Description
Without doubt one of our most ambitious and spectacular launches to date…
Drawing inspiration from 20 years of offering exceptional Venice rentals and hosting friends old and new from all four corners of the globe, it’s with heartfelt thanks to all the ‘pros’ making this recent mission possible that we roll out the red carpet for -
La Dimora di San Maurizio
Curated to captivate - and with stellar service for peace of mind…
An entire 5-STOREY VOV-OWNED PALACE cradling 4 newborn apartments in one of the most prestigious locations in the San Marco sestiere
Restored by maestros in the art of reawakening tired spaces with the sympathy and respect such venerable buildings deserve, these lavishly appointed apartments boast fully bespoke interiors in a signature style much-admired for its vitality and verve
Poised prettily in pink opposite the Museum of Music in sunny Campo San Maurizio, between the cafés of Santo Stefano and the luxury boutiques nuzzling St. Mark’s Square, La Dimora’s apartments are of differing sizes and sleep 30 guests in total when reserved for exclusive use
Within a waltz of the world-famous La Fenice Opera House and the Gritti Palace’s Riva Lounge for glamorous Grand Canal-side drinks, all 4 air-conditioned*** apartments are accessible by lift and include -
La Dimora di San Maurizio 2 (sleeps 8)
Presenting ‘Opulence in Gemstone Colours’
A 4 double bedroom / 4 bathroom + 1 guest bathroom apartment
Boasting high-spec fittings and accoutrements and an ambience we know you’ll love…
Situated on the second floor served by lift and with a total of 8 tall arched windows to the fore overlooking the Campo towards the tipsily tilting bell tower of Santo Stefano - the palazzo’s most impressively proportioned apartment dressed in a kaleidoscope of gemstone hues and comprising:
• A superbly appointed sitting room in ruby and sky blue topaz with whitewashed wooden beams overhead, wooden flooring topped with Kilim underfoot and - taking pride of place - an unashamedly indulgent (and very large!) L-shaped sofa for chilling with your fellow guests and lazy lounging with a view
• A fully fitted kitchen/dining room (also to the front of the apartment) with integrated appliances plus a dining suite with inbuilt banquette and seating for 8 guests - note the decorative wall plates that bring to mind the pink flamingos that are known to frequent the shallows of the northern Venetian Lagoon…
• The apartment’s uber-plush master bedroom – facing the Campo and home to a gorgeous double bed* decked out in citrine, sapphire and peridot tones, Oriental-style lanterns to either side, a custom-made wardrobe plus its own sparklingly fresh hematite-grey bathroom with luxurious walk-in shower
• An equally impressive and very pretty second double bedroom - also front-facing and showcasing a double bed* with bespoke upholstery and fine linens, a mirror-fronted custom-made wardrobe plus a pristine separate bathroom of its own with meticulously tiled shower
• The apartment’s delightful third double bedroom peacefully situated to the rear of the palazzo and expertly furnished with a double bed* attired in beautifully coordinated shades set beneath a ceiling of whitewashed beams and benefitting from a separate walk-in dressing room (shared with the second bedroom) and its own en suite luxury bathroom with bathtub and shower over
• A fourth and final double bedroom - also positioned to the rear and home to a supremely elegant double bed* dressed for relaxation in amber and sapphire blue and with a fretwork-fronted wardrobe, writing desk and its own separate sparkling bathroom with bathtub and shower over
And completing the accommodation at the centre of ‘Dimora 2’ -
• A guest bathroom (loo and wash hand basin only) with Lewis & Woods ‘Womad’ wallpaper, mirror and soft lighting
* Note that all 4 double beds within the apartment can each be made into 2 singles upon request
** Are you part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer three other deluxe apartments within La Dimora di San Maurizio: Apartment 1 / 3 / 4
OUR COMMENT
A ‘Flagship’ VOV palazzo designed by architects ArchFlorence joining La Marchesa, Ca’ Dell’ Opera, Gondolieri… et al!
Occupying a superb central location with an upmarket vibe – not too busy, not too quiet, and pivotal to all the sights
Beside the ‘Mercatino San Maurizio’ Antiques Market held on certain dates throughout the year and a short stroll to the Accademia Galleries just across the Accademia Bridge, to 3 vaporetto (water-bus) stops – Accademia, Giglio and Sant’ Angelo – for easy travel about town, and to the traditional Traghetto at Santa Maria Del Giglio ferrying passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the laid-back and very beautiful Dorsoduro sestiere
***Please note that the operation of air conditioning and heating are subjected to the municipality regulation. Generally, the heating works from middle of October to middle of April, while air conditioning works between middle of Aprile to middle of October. Please contact us for further information.

Location was excellent. Everything was in excellent condition. Check-in was simple. The keyless entry was great and worked really well. Having laundry in the basement is a great amenity. The designer who did the interiors has excellent taste.

The pillows are really uncomfortable. Not everyone likes memory foam. I think you should offer some soft down or fiber-filled pillows for guests who do not like hard pillows.

The accommodations were perfect for our two families. The communication was above and beyond. We communicated for months prior to our arrival. No question was ignored. They arranged water taxis upon arrival from both the train station and airport. We were greeted upon arrival. They went out of their way to ensure our entry was flawless. We will stay nowhere else in Venice. |

The apartment is wonderful and spacious, accommodating our entire family. Centrally located but we much appreciated being in walking distance to so many sights and yet comfortably away from too many people. We utilized the concierge services which were great - food delivered before our arrival, a private chef's dinner on our last night - which turned out to be everyone's favorite meal of our stay. The team is friendly and responsive, and a great help overall. We loved it here.

Our stay in apartments 2 and 4 were absolutely incredible. When we first arrived we were greeted by Marta, who was very helpful and took her time explaining everything and answering all our questions.
When you first enter the building with a door code, you enter into a private hallway with a small separate sitting room off to the side and then walk a few more steps just past the large spiraling staircase to the elevator. Once you get on the elevator and type in another code, the elevator ascends and opens directly into your apartment. Get ready, because when you see these apartments, you will be SO pleasantly surprised. They are gorgeous, and are both luxurious and comfortable at the same time. The kitchen is very well stocked and has many good quality wine, champagne and water glasses, as well as a nespresso machine complete with pods, an electric tea kettle, plates, bowls, platters and more. The living room is comfortable and high end and looks out on the Campo SM (as does the built-in dining room) through shuttered windows that you can swing wide open. Walk next through the clean wood floored hallways to all of the beautiful bedrooms. Each has its own remodeled/high end bathroom and an extremely comfortable king size bed with excellent pillows and linens. There is also separately controlled a/c and heat in each room, as well as throughout the entire house. We have stayed in many beautiful apartments over the years, but these ones in San Maurizio were off the charts! |

We were thrilled with the Views on Venice apartment. It’s gorgeous and clean and comfortable. It has everything we needed and more. And we can’t say enough about the gracious hospitality. From arranging a water taxi to Red Cross Covid tests, the service was the best ever. Marta met us at the taxi, led us to the apartment and gave us a quick rundown on how things worked and where to find all we might want or need. We were blown away by the level of care and attention to detail. There were 8 of us, and plenty of room in the kitchen and living spaces and each couple had their own bedroom and bath. Such cozy beds. And we loved the location. Very quiet, and a short walk to the main attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was superb! From the moment you open the private elevator door and enter this luxurious apartment, you feel at home. A pleasant fully equipped kitchen and an impressive sitting room to stretch your legs after visiting Venice. Spacious bedrooms, each with its own Italian style decoration. Comfortable bathrooms, created with the finest materials. Bedrooms may be turned into private suites with their own bathroom, providing privacy when traveling with a group. The location is perfect as well: a typical Italian plaza at close distance of all the highlights of Venice. As the cream on the cake: a great host who welcomed us personally and arranged for all the necessary reservations, from the private water taxi to the glass factory at Murano. Worth every penny and we will definitely go back.

The overall concierge experience was outstanding. Marta helped us with everything from restaurant reservations, Venice tips, transfers for all our guests and everything else in between. Way better quality than any Airbnb. This is my second time renting from views on Venice and would only use them moving forward.

Let me start by telling you that I am the person that rarely accepts the first hotel room I'm given. Yes, my standards are pretty high and I want the full experience. This apartment knocked my socks off. The location is fabulous and our property manager arranged for a water taxi from the train station directly to the closest dock to the apartment. The building itself is discrete and don't show the beauty of the property. Once you are inside, you can either take 2 flights of stairsan elevator directly up to the unit (it opens into the apartment). The front door and elevator both have secure keypads with specific codes to you so we never had to worry about brining keys. The apartment itself is perfect. And let me be clear, it takes a lot for me to give something this rating. The floors, walls, decour, trim work, furniture, bathrooms, etc. rival what you would expect to see at a Four Seasons, St. Regis,Ritz. No IKEA junk. Stunning. The linens on the bed were perfect and honestly my only complaints were the firmness of the beds (most people would be ok, but I like a more plush/pillow top) and the lack of paper towels/kitchen towels. Everything else was amazing. This unit has 4 suites. 3 of the bedrooms have their own ensuite bath and one has a hall bath. Ironically, we put our kids in the two back ensuite bedrooms, and my in-laws in the suite off the kitchen (separated from the other 3 bedrooms). We took the room with the hall bath, which was fine since there was also a powder room. The location was a short 5 minute walk to Chanel, YSL, Gucci, etc. - high end shops and also 10 min walk to St. Mark's Square. In the piazza you have a restaurant, 2 gelato stands, wine shop, & pizza carry out. In the next square over are many more restaurants, ATMs, cafes, etc. You can literally get around so easily but also feel tucked away and less touristy. I would highly recommend this apartment if you are staying in Venice.

Ring the bell for ‘Curtain Up’ at Ca’ Dell’ Opera Terrace– a tale of transformation from ugly duckling to swan Lavishly and luxuriously renovated to the same exceptional standards as those offered by our spectacular Grand Canal palazzi and piano nobile properties, and welcoming guests with a comforting sense of warmth and intimacy in tune with its rather cosier yet still more than ample proportions, VOV is delighted to bring you this showstopping new apartment. Brimming with character and showcasing the fruits of yet another supremely successful creative collaboration between Views on Venice and trusted architect and interior design company Archflorence, Ca’ Dell’ Opera stands proud alongside Ca’ Del Teatro, Ca’ Cerchieri Loredan, Ca’ Dell’ Ulivo, Ca' Della Luce, La Marchesa and Gondolieri in an innovative and highly regarded line-up of VOV - owned and completely restored apartments – individually designed with refinement and taste to elevate them all to the very top of their league, and marrying Venetian spirit and understated glamour with flawlessly executed Florentine flair. Named and beautifully decorated (though somewhat less ostentatiously!) in homage to the magical jewel-like opera houses of Venice – the Malibran, the Goldoni and, of course, La Fenice – and in memory of those theatres that have long disappeared, Ca’ Dell’ Opera has 4 bedrooms/4 bathrooms and is charmingly located in peaceful Campo degli Incurabili, Dorsoduro, close to the Accademia Galleries and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and steps from the Zattere with its spectacular views. Sleeping 8 (+1) in a relaxed atmosphere of quiet affluence and comfortable living, the fully air-conditioned* apartment is spread over 3 levels and impeccably presented from top-to-toe in bespoke soft furnishings and custom-built fittings all unique to Ca’ Dell’ Opera.
